Rohingya refugees access clean water
Eight-year-old Ismatara lives in the world’s largest refugee settlement, in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. She fled here with her family when violence broke out in Myanmar in 2017.
Ismatara used to walk long distances to collect water, climbing the camp’s steep hills with a heavy aluminium can. The water was dirty and made her sick.
Now, a new well near her house serves 100 families – about 500 people. “I can drink water and bathe easily now,” she says.
