What is the Global Food Crisis appeal?
The appeal supports activities like:
- Distributing emergency aid like food, water, medicine and household supplies. World Vision also undertakes nutritional feeding for malnourished babies and their mothers, and pregnant women.
- Helping families rehabilitate their lives, businesses and farms. World Vision provides seeds adapted to local soil and climate conditions, as well as tools and agricultural training. We also train farmers in sustainable farming, re-vegetation, and the planting of fruit and forest trees.
- Disaster mitigation programs and long-term resilience and sustainability projects.
- Advocacy projects that work with local charities, businesses and governments to help rehabilitate communities and bring about policy changes that help those affected by the Global Food Crisis.
Examples of how your support can help...
- $135 can help provide emergency food for three children under five, and pregnant or breastfeeding mothers.
- $60 can help provide lifesaving health, hygiene, nutrition and immunisation awareness, and care for six malnourished children and their mothers.
- $78 can help provide climate-appropriate seeds, tools and agricultural training to help six farmers grow lifesaving food for their families.
Please note that World Vision’s programs vary between countries and depending on the situation.
