Winstone is 38 years old and lives with his mother Mthavini in a small rural village in north west South Africa.
Winstone is a wheelchair user and despite being highly intelligent was forced to leave school during grade 9, and has since spent the majority of his life at home.
This all changed three years ago as Winstone began attending Tanani Matiko #2, a local community organisation working to support disabled community members. Since joining, Winstone thrived and quickly became a familiar face around the organisation. Despite his limited physical ability, Winstone works for hours each day creating handicrafts with recycled maize bags and wool string and his contagious laughter can he heard as he talks with other group members and their families.
