What is World Vision

World Vision is a charitable organisation providing help on a need basis. Our work is to improve the lives of children, families and communities living in poverty. We work on long-term projects that address the causes of poverty and help people become self-sufficient. In addition, we also provide relief in emergency situations.

World Vision Australia began in 1965, as part of the World Vision international partnership working in about 100 countries.

We work closely with the Australian government, with full accreditation from the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID). We work under the provisions and regulations set out by AusAID, as well as the Code of Conduct stipulated by the Australian Council for International Development (ACFID).

More than 360,000 Australians support our work, making us the largest charitable group in Australia. The strong support we receive enables almost 12 million people to be helped every year. Find out more about World Vision or view our annual reports.
