In order to help protect the privacy, dignity and personal safety of every sponsored child, World Vision has developed the following guidelines in line with our Child Protection Policies.
Can I display the photo of my sponsored child at home or in my business/work place?
Yes. Sponsoring a child is a wonderful experience and one which we encourage you to share with your family and friends. To that extent, you are welcome to display the photo of your sponsored child at your home or personal space at work/business to share your experience of helping a child in need. |
 |
Can I make a copy of my sponsored child’s photo?
World Vision is entrusted by families of sponsored children with the information and images of children only to enable their sponsorship. We are contractually bound by copyright and child protection policies not to allow distribution of the information and images to anyone other than actual child sponsor, unless it is for the original purpose of sponsorship.
As a child sponsor, with our written permission, you may enlarge a photo of your sponsored child to display it at home or your personal space at work/business, along with some personal information relating to the child (name, age and country only). Call 1300 303 440 to request permission.
Furthermore, if you sponsor a child as a part of a group, with our written permission, you can make additional copies of the photo to give to each financially contributing member of that group. Call 1300 303 440 to request permission. |
 |
Can I place my sponsored child’s photo and/or personal information on a website or email it to others?
No. We ask you not to place your sponsored child’s photo and/or personal information (age, last name, geographical location, health, education or other) on a website (internet or intranet) or email it to others because it creates risks to the privacy, dignity and personal safety of your sponsored child.
By agreement with each particular country and community World Vision is allowed to display child photos and information on the World Vision website only.
For those reasons we ask that you do not download or distribute the images and information about your sponsored child, including displaying them within your or any other websites (personal or commercial) or intranets. |

How can I help to promote World Vision child sponsorship to help other children?
Sponsoring a child is a wonderful and meaningful experience and we welcome those who wish to assist World Vision in finding new sponsors. We have banner ads and clickable links that are available to download from our website. You may place these within your website to encourage others to sponsor a child.
