Industry gives poor communities in Burundi a sporting chance

World Vision welcomes a donation of $20,000 by leading print and distribution company, PMP Limited.

The generous donation will support a World Vision Australia water and sanitation program in Burundi which will specifically help rebuild water infrastructure that was destroyed during the 1990s civil war. As a result of poor water supplies and sanitation, Burundi has one of the world’s highest child and maternal mortality rates. By giving communities in Burundi access to clean water and sanitation, PMP Limited is helping improve the wellbeing of children and families.

PMP Limited was inspired to support these projects following the commitment made by their long term customer Stratco. Stratco is helping World Vision Australia deliver water and sanitation to the project in Burundi by donating $2,000 for every goal scored by Adelaide United.

Commenting on the donation World Vision Australia CEO Tim Costello said that it is great to see businesses and their suppliers working together to help people in need.

“This is a great example of how the corporate world can work together to make a difference,” said Mr Costello.

“I really commend PMP Limited for following in Stratco’s footsteps and for their commitment to helping communities in Burundi access lifesaving clean water and sanitation.”

For PMP Limited, this donation is a way that they can not only make a difference to communities in need but also support the good work of their clients and business partners.

“It’s really important for a company like PMP to recognise the good work our clients and business partners are involved in and where we can step up to the mark with our own donation,” said PMP’s CEO Richard Allely.

“The Burundi project is one of these occasions. We know that PMP’s donation will contribute to creating better lives for children and families in need of such a simple resource that all of us take for granted, water.”
