Christchurch in our thoughts and prayers
Tuesday, February 22, 2011
World Vision Australia CEO, Tim Costello said the Australian office was working closely with World Vision New Zealand to offer support.
“We have been in communication with our New Zealand colleagues since the earthquake struck. World Vision New Zealand has offered practical support to the Salvation Army who is working on the ground", Rev Costello said.
“Our concern is also for the children of Christchurch who may be deeply distressed by today’s earthquake. Our New Zealand office has partnered with parenting agency Parents Inc to distribute a practical guide for those caring for children during this time,” he said.
During the September 2010 earthquake, World Vision New Zealand offered support by distributing food parcels and care kits to affected families.
World Vision has an office in Christchurch, all of the 14 staff from Christchurch are safe and have been accounted for.
