Where your donations go

For over 50 years we have worked hard to make sure that all resources entrusted to us are used efficiently, effectively and transparently to bring maximum impact to children and communities in need.

Field programs and advocacy work

These funds go to support and carry out programs that benefit children and their communities.

Fundraising is important in generating donations of cash, food and goods.

Administration and accountability

This is essential to the day to day running of our work.

How your donation helps

Your donation to the Big Impact Appeal will be used to help feed hungry children and families through emergency food and cash distributions and support to meet long-term food needs.

You'll be helping vulnerable communities affected by climate-related disasters, conflict and other forces out of their control, such as the COVID-19 pandemic.

Through our partnership with the UN World Food Programme, the value of every dollar you give will be multiplied 18 times to support food-related programs in 14 countries including Bangladesh, Mozambique, Kenya, Somalia and South Sudan.

Frequently asked questions

Each year, the Australian Tax Office (ATO) provides an incentive for people to donate to charities by making your contributions tax deductible. This means your donation to World Vision can be claimed as a tax deduction when you submit your tax return at the end of the financial year.
Gifts of $2 or more to a non-profit organisation like World Vision Australia that has Deductible Gift Recipient status with the ATO are tax deductible, depending on your own tax position.
Like individuals, Australian businesses can claim charity donations as a tax deduction as long as the charity is registered with the ATO as a Deductible Gift Recipient.
When you make a donation to World Vision, we will send you an Annual Tax Statement at the end of the financial year that will help you claim a tax deduction when it is time to prepare your tax return. You can claim the amount you donated in the section of your tax return that deals with Gifts and Donations. Keep a copy of the statement we send you as proof of your donation.
