Team World Vision is all about making an impact. You will make a real difference around the world when you raise money and run a race with Team World Vision. Ten times the impact!
Team World Vision is focused on raising funds towards World Vision’s
Multiplying Gift Appeal. Funds raised will help World Vision deliver food aid worth as much as 10 times the value of your donation to desperately hungry children and families. The food aid is provided by the World Food Programme, but storage and distribution is managed by World Vision!
Food aid and other relief is an essential part of World Vision’s work around the world. It is a lifeline for thousands of people affected by severe food shortages in times of conflict and natural disaster. Since 1996, World Vision has been working with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) to help deliver food and relief essentials to desperately hungry children and their families.
$50 can provide $500 worth of life-saving food - enough to feed 10 families for one month*.
$175 can provide $1,750 worth of life-saving food - enough to feed 35 families for one month*
$550 can provide $5,500 worth of life-saving food enough to feed 110 families for one month*
$2,200 can provide $22,000 worth of life-saving food enough to feed 440 families for one month*
* Please note, amounts shown are indicative (based on contracts in the 12 month period prior to September 2010). Any significant variation will be updated on this site. The price of $50 is calculated based on the cost it takes to deliver the food to all benefiting countries, divided by the total number of families receiving a monthly ration of food.
Should funds raised for the Multiplying Gift Appeal exceed the amount required to fund World Vision's work in delivering food aid and other essential supplies provided by the World Food Programme and other United Nations agencies, World Vision will use the excess funds in other work to help communities respond to the causes and effects of food insecurity.
