When Nuredin was a baby, he was very malnourished. His mother Hindiya, who lives in Ethiopia, couldn’t afford the food he needed to recover.
Mensur missed school to help care for his little brother. Baby Nuredin was so sick, his family was scared he would die.
Hindiya was working hard but just couldn’t get enough food for her family. She faced an impossible situation. Hunger was stealing her children’s futures.
But when Mensur was sponsored, it turned the family’s world around. Hindiya received chickens and training to grow a garden. She learned about healthy eating and started a small business.
Now, the family has plenty of food. Nuredin is a healthy toddler and Mensur is doing well at school.
