If Teriano hadn’t been sponsored, she would have had to
get married at 13 and start bearing children.
But with the support of a World Vision sponsor, Teriano’s school fees
were fully funded – and she managed to convince her mother to let
her continue studying.
Teriano is the first person in her family to graduate
and go to university.
She now travels around the world advocating for girls’ rights,
freeing them from exploitation and child marriage.
People ask her, “If my daughter stays in school,
can she be like you?”
