Achut lives alone in a camp for displaced people. She is 10 years old.

Her father was killed by gunmen in the conflict, her mother has passed.
When her brother joined the army, Achut was left to fend for herself.

“Living alone hurts me so much,” she says.
“I feel afraid of going to fetch water because of what may happen to me.”

Achut is grateful for the food distributed by World Vision at the camp.
She cooks her own food and when there is none, she tries to forage for something.

What Achut struggles the most with is trauma. “When we were running,
we saw one of the women get killed. That gave me a lot of nightmares.”
