Sarah’s family was living in poverty. They thought she should get married, like many other girls in her area.

She wanted to go to school, like her brothers. “I was telling them that I did not want to get married, I wanted to study,” she says.

She reported her concerns to a community leader. He and World Vision provided support that meant Sarah could go to school.

Sarah still helps her family out after school. But now she’s doing well in her studies and dreams of becoming a teacher.
