This resource includes images and information about five children from around the world. Students are introduced to Sheila from the Philippines; Misael from Honduras; Nissma from Gaza; Myagmargarig from Mongolia; and, Peggy from Zambia. There are five photos of each child, covering the themes of school, play, home, chores, and family. Additional information is available in the stories.
Students can develop their skills in identifying and classifying information from photographs and text, and responding to texts by telling the story of their own lives.
The photographs are available in both PDF and Powerpoint format. The stories, student handout and teacher's notes are available in separate documents.
