Tom Phillips

Tom Phillips is an Australian rules footballer playing for the Collingwood Football Club in the Australian Football League. After winning a dual premiership with the Oakleigh Chargers, Tom was drafted by Collingwood with their 2nd pick of the 2015 national draft.

Tom made his debut for Collingwood on 13 June 2016 against Melbourne on the Queen's Birthday. Tom was named the AFL Rising Star nominee for round 9, 2017, after gathering 24 disposals in Collingwood's comeback win over Hawthorn at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Tom is particularly interested in the work we do with refugee communities. Tom visited Rwanda in November of 2018. During his visit, Tom learnt about World Vision’s work in providing the 17,000-strong local community the first clean drinking water in 18 years.

World Vision’s work

World Vision Australia works globally with children, families and communities to overcome poverty and injustice. Our work in long-term community development, policy advocacy and change, and emergency relief addresses not only the symptoms of poverty, but also its complex and interrelated causes.
