How you are helping your sponsored child

Watch this video to learn more about how you are helping to create a brighter future for your sponsored child and their entire community.

Changing your sponsored child’s world

More than 60 years of experience has taught us that the best way to change a child’s life is to transform their entire community so that all children living there can thrive. Because of our community-focused solutions, for every child you help, four more children benefit.

Child focused

Child-focused

Our primary focus is on enabling children to reach their full potential. This involves ensuring that they have good health and education, live in a safe and caring environment, and have opportunities to participate in their community.

Community led partnerships

Community-led

We partner with your sponsored child’s community to understand their unique needs, goals and resources and work with them to tailor a long-term development plan to improve children’s wellbeing.

Long lasting support

Long-lasting

Your support helps to create a better future for your sponsored child and to equip their community to become self-sustaining and continue to develop long after we’re gone.

How we work with your sponsored child’s community

Child sponsorship programs typically last around 15 years, depending on local circumstances. Your sponsorship helps support activities that address the underlying causes of poverty in your sponsored child’s community. These activities are overseen by local staff who live and work in the community.
