We support primary school children to learn reading, basic maths and essential life skills. To do this we use evidence-based approaches to improve education quality and outcomes, including through teacher training, community reading activities and the provision of age-appropriate and locally relevant reading materials.
We promote school environments where children’s rights are protected, including through sound infrastructure and protection from violence. This ensures children have the best foundation for learning.
We help adolescents with applied skills to assist them in everyday life. This includes helping students to develop livelihood and citizenship
skills, often through a mentoring relationship, to help them become active and productive members of their communities.
Emergency situations can disrupt children’s education. We provide temporary child-friendly learning spaces, access to learning and
emotional support, and capacity building for teachers and caregivers. This means children’s rights to education can be upheld even in the most difficult circumstances.
