Four ways your donation can help improve learning and education.

Sustainably improving literacy and education

We support primary school children to learn reading, basic maths and essential life skills. To do this we use evidence-based approaches to improve education quality and outcomes, including through teacher training, community reading activities and the provision of age-appropriate and locally relevant reading materials.

Child safety

We promote school environments where children’s rights are protected, including through sound infrastructure and protection from violence. This ensures children have the best foundation for learning.

Supporting young peoples’ education

We help adolescents with applied skills to assist them in everyday life. This includes helping students to develop livelihood and citizenship skills, often through a mentoring relationship, to help them become active and productive members of their communities.

Providing education in emergencies

Emergency situations can disrupt children’s education. We provide temporary child-friendly learning spaces, access to learning and emotional support, and capacity building for teachers and caregivers. This means children’s rights to education can be upheld even in the most difficult circumstances.

We know that real transformation happens – and lasts – when communities are empowered to change their own circumstances. Education is crucial to this empowerment.

Your support is vital.

50 years of improved education

Education leads to more sustainable families, helps protect girls from abuse and child marriage, and enables communities to earn a living. Since 1990, the number of children enrolled in primary school has doubled.
