Abolitionist Sunday, held this year on Sunday 23 November, is an annual event when the Church takes a stand against human trafficking and slavery.
Following in the footsteps of the great slave-trade Abolitionist William Wilberforce, Australian Christians stand together and say 'no' to a world where men, women and children are exploited for profit.
Together, we call on our nation's leaders to do more to end human trafficking and slavery. And we look at our own everyday actions to see how small changes in our purchasing habits can make a big difference.
Abolitionist Sunday in my church
Abolitionist Sunday is an event that's designed to work for every Christian church.
Whether you're able to set aside a whole service or just 15 minutes, you can run an Abolitionist Sunday event. We also have suggestions for running events for youth and children.
Together with churches across Australia, we are calling on you to Learn to do what's right; Seek justice and Defend the oppressed this Abolitionist Sunday (Isaiah 1:17).
