Kylie and her partner pose with Amith, his parents and brother.

Kylie Harrison travelled to Sri Lanka to meet her sponsored child, Amith.

"Meeting Amith, his family and local community in their village in Sri Lanka was an amazing experience.

I would like to thank World Vision for the opportunity, especially the local office in the village in Sri Lanka. They went out of their way to make the experience a truly memorable one. It was fantastic to see the difference our sponsorship makes in the lives of those in need."

Sharon Ingersole with Manisha in Nepal.

"Sharon Ingersole sponsors two children and recently decided to visit both of them!

Manisha and her brother, mother, father and grandfather were there to meet us and presented us with little posies made of flowers from their own garden. We sat around in a big circle and asked questions of each other, and I gave Manisha her koala and art box.

This family with the help of World Vision is certainly carving their way out of poverty and it is so rewarding to see the changes in our sponsored child."

2.  Sponsor Agreement

All sponsors intending to visit their sponsored child are required to read, complete and return the sponsor visit agreement. 3.  A police clearance form

All supporters, aged 16 years or over, who are planning to visit their sponsored child must obtain a police clearance. This is required under World Vision's child protection policy which specifies our commitment to being a child-safe organisation that supports the safety of children in their communities. All World Vision employees and supporters who visit sponsored children must have a current police clearance. This assists in our commitment to protect children from potential abuse and also protects employees and sponsors.

If you already have a current police clearance form (less than 2 years old) and would prefer not to go through the application process again, you can provide us with a certified copy of the original.

Please note that it is important to plan for this well in advance because obtaining police clearance can take between 8-12 weeks. Once we receive clearance, we can begin making arrangements for your visit.

Obtaining police clearance for supporters:

World Vision coordinate all national police clearances associated with supporters wanting to visit their sponsored child through the Victoria Police*. The Victoria Police will process nation wide police clearances for all supporters in all states at a cost of $14.00.
