Welcome
Understanding the frameworks for measuring the effectiveness of humanitarian and development aid is critical for ensuring delivery of quality development programs and relief aid. On November 2 & 3, World Vision Australia,
in partnership with Deakin University and the Burnet Institute presented Measuring Effectiveness, a conference which provided:
- an opportunity for development and emergency relief experts to share successful demonstration projects and elucidate how conference impact was measured
- an avenue to identify obstacles and challenges related to measuring impact and effectiveness of development and emergency, and discuss successful measurement approaches that will shape the way forward.
Feedback from the conference was very positive, and will assist in providing direction for future conferences.
A full summary of the evaluation forms completed can be found in Conference Feedback (PDF: 71 KB).
Conferences are currently being planned for 2007 and 2008. The theme of the 2007 conference will be 'Measuring Effectiveness & Community Development' while the 2008 conference will focus on the impact of faith-based NGOs.
