Measuring Effectiveness: Communities & Development, 10 – 11 September, 20077

Measuring Effectiveness Conference 2008 – Welcome

Following on from last year's theme of 'Communities and Development', the 2008 conference will focus on citizenship and accountability in more depth. World Vision Australia is organising the conference in partnership with the Australian National University. The conference will explore the themes (PDF: 34 KB) of 'Participation, Empowerment and Downward Accountability'.

The 2008 conference will be held in Melbourne, at the Angliss Conference Centre, on Thursday 25th & Friday 26th September, 2008. A particular focus of the conference is to look at how agencies express their accountability to communities or more importantly, how do they empower communities to hold development partners to account. The 2-day sessions will include case studies and panel discussions on these themes as well as looking at geographical activities in Asia, South Asian, the Pacific and Latin America/Caribbean.
