Meet some of the World Vision Australia delegation
Garth Luke | Senior Researcher, Government Relations
Garth has worked on international development issues for the last 21 years. His areas of specialisation include the quality and quantity of development aid, the Millennium Development Goals and provision of basic social services. Garth has authored several papers on international development assistance and acted as a consultant to a number of civil society campaigns for better aid.
Sue Ndwala | Maternal & Child Health Advisor, Policy & Programs Integration Team
Sue is a consultant midwife with 20 years of midwifery experience, with a focus on midwifery education. She holds qualifications in nursing, midwifery, child and family health, sexual health and nursing education. Her cross cultural work experiences have included Ethiopia, Southern Sudan, and Timor Leste – working in both humanitarian emergencies and development contexts.
Phearak Svay | Country Program Coordinator, Asia Team
Phearak is a Country Program Coordinator for Mongolia and Myanmar. Working with World Vision Australia for more than seven years, he has been managing a number of maternal and child health projects in some countries in Asia. Phearak is currently managing a regional Health and Nutrition Capacity Building Project in the Asia region.
Chris Varney | Youth Delegate
Chris is a passionate advocate for child rights and poverty reduction. In 2009 Chris was Australia’s Youth Representative to the United Nations. Prior to this, Chris’ involvement with World Vision included serving as the Victorian State Director and then National Co-Director of Vision Generation. He currently studies Arts/ Law at Monash University.
