Give gifts that mean more

  1. Through World Vision Gifts, Edward and his family have been able to transform their lives.

Make a world of difference to children and families in need this Christmas by giving your family and friends World Vision Gifts.

Each one of the 42 gifts in the new-look World Vision Gift catalogue represents the meaningful activities that your donation will support, such as education and training programs for children and adults in poor communities.

Edward and Loveness’ story

We are incredibly thankful to the many churches and individuals who chose to share their Christmas joy with children and families in great need last year.

As carers of orphaned children, Edward and Loveness in Zambia were chosen by their community to receive two cows through a livestock program funded by World Vision Gifts.

Edward says their life before receiving the cows was difficult, as there was a lot of poverty in his village.

“If you have a source [of income] like animals, it can be easier for us,” he says.

Edward and Loveness’ two cows multiplied to 10. They sold four and used the profits to build a house, pay school fees and buy school uniforms for their children. Their six remaining cows provide manure, which they use on their vegetable garden. They sell the excess vegetables they grow for extra income.

“Cattle make me smile, income makes me smile, and manure makes me smile!” Edward says. “The family, we are happy.”

World Vision is training their community in agriculture and farming techniques, and in the future, Edward and Loveness plan to train two bulls to plough their land.

Watch how donations to World Vision Gifts helped to transform life for Edward, Loveness and their family.
