Thousands of Australians are helping children, families and communities with food and nutritional support by purchasing items from our Gift catalogue. See how you can make a real change for little more than small change.

During 2008, World Vision supporters ordered thousands of life-changing gifts valued at just under $4 million from our Smiles catalogue. Among the tens of thousands of gifts that have been delivered to families and communities across the developing world are:

  • 7,489 contributions of nourishing food for families in emergency situations
  • 2,708 gifts of fruit tree seedlings and agricultural training to provide families with food to eat and produce to sell
  • 5,475 goats to produce protein-rich milk
  • 3,590 packs of seeds, tools and training to help families establish vegetable gardens
  • 34 water tanks to help farmers irrigate their crops
  • 4,138 contributions to provide beehives and skills training to help families produce nutritious honey and generate valuable income.

By making a purchase from our Gifts catalogue, you can help families and communities with practical help to fight hunger and improve nutrition.

yes, this is really sad and the more people who participate in the 40 hour famine, the quicker we can stop the poor behaviour.
