How you can help

  1. In Bangladesh, mothers and children gain strength in a World Vision nutrition centre.
  2. Severely malnourished children need specially-formulated high-energy food.
  3. Helping farmers grow enough food for their children is an important part of our work.
  4. School feeding programs play a vital role in communities hit by food shortages.
  5. With the right seeds, tools and training, bumper harvests can be achieved.

A stable, nutritious food supply is essential to life. By making a donation to Ten Times or our Global Food Crisis Fund, by purchasing from our Smiles catalogue or by sponsoring a child, you can be part of the solution. You can also get involved in advocating for policy change.

World Vision is Australia’s largest humanitarian aid organisation. Helping communities improve child health and secure long-term access to nutritious food are important pillars of our development work, but we need ongoing support from concerned Australians.

This May, your support of our Ten Times appeal will see 10 times the value of your donation turned into desperately needed food aid. World Vision will be delivering this aid to over 60,000 hungry people in displaced persons' camps in northern Uganda.

We have also set up a fund to provide urgent and ongoing assistance to communities affected by the Global Food Crisis. Your contribution to this fund will support activities including the provision of supplementary and therapeutic food, seeds, tools and training in sustainable farming and re-vegetation, and efforts to change global food policies that disadvantage poor communities.

Our Smiles gift catalogue contains items that help communities grow nutritious food, generate income and protect and revive their environments. You can also sign up to do the 40 Hour Famine each year or sponsor a child and help bring about long-term change for entire communities.

Beyond financial support, there are other things you can do. Ask questions. Get involved.

You can send letters and emails to politicians at local, state and federal levels urging them to take action; you can sign petitions; and you can even volunteer for World Vision to work on campaigns and events to raise awareness.

Getting active and supporting World Vision's effors are great ways to make a real and lasting contribution to building healthy communities.
