On 26 December 2004, an undersea earthquake off the west coast of Sumatra, Indonesia, triggered a series of tsunamis that hit the coastline of 12 countries in Southeast Asia. They claimed the lives of more than 200,000 people and caused widespread damage and destruction. This powerful photo essay is a portrayal of both the damage done and the relief efforts undertaken by World Vision.

What a wonderful effort and such a great pity the metropolitan dailies don't give such good news to all people who donated to the relief efforts.
