World Vision response

World Vision has distributed relief items in Hunan, one of the worst flood-affected provinces in southern China.

Two World Vision China emergency teams conducted rapid assessments in Hunan and Jiangxi provinces.  During assessments, team members distributed hygiene kits and child-friendly kits.

As a result of the assessment findings quilts, additional hygiene kits and food will be distributed.  The first major distribution for Hunan province will include 1,000 quilts, 1,000 hygiene kits and 60 child-friendly kits.

Background information

Since early June, large parts of China have been beset by torrential rains, resulting in severe flooding and landslides. Hunan and Jiangx are currently the worst affected provinces.
