The results are in! Between 14 and 21 September 2009, 37,432 young Australians from around the nation voted on the world they want to inherit.

During Youth Decide, young Australians were asked to nominate what emissions targets they would like to see agreed to at Copenhagen in December.

And here it is: 97.5% of young people voted for emissions targets stronger than those currently proposed by the government.

At the UN Climate Change conference in Copenhagen in December 2009, world leaders will decide the global response to Climate Change.

Climate change has the potential to undo the last 50 years of work that international humanitarian organisations like World Vision have helped to achieve. It is World Vision’s view that the future of the world’s youth is at stake.

So we want to thank all the young Australians who have spoken up. Their voice will be heard – at the UN Climate week the week beginning 21 September, and through a youth delegation that will go to Copenhagen in December, 2009.

Find out more by going to Youth Decide and the UN Climate Change Conference sites.
