Trafficking occurs around the world – including in Australia.
If you suspect an incidence of trafficking, World Vision Australia encourages you to report this to the
Australian Federal Police Call
131-AFP or fill out their
online form They will assess the information, and if deemed necessary deploy specialist law enforcement officials to undertake appropriate interventions.
While we empathise with the public’s desire to make an active contribution to responding to this crime in Australia, World Vision in no way condones any activity that involves civilian individuals directly investigating cases of exploitation, engaging in ‘rescue’ work or in law enforcement activities, covertly or overtly, both in Australia and overseas. Reasons include but are not limited to: such practices may put all involved at enormous personal risk – and can cause greater harm for victims of trafficking; and going "undercover" may actually compromise proactive investigations that local police are already carrying out.
