Today, there are 115 million children trapped in the worst forms of child labour, which includes armed conflict, slavery, debt bondage, sexual exploitation and work that is likely to harm their health, safety and development. By far, the largest numbers of trafficked children are in our region, the Asia-Pacific.
Human trafficking is driven by the demand for cheap goods, services and labour. Consumers are often unaware that trafficked and exploited labour has been used to produce their goods.
As individuals, governments and businesses worldwide directly and indirectly fuel the crime of human trafficking and slavery - including the worst forms of child labour - they all have a role to play in combating it. Take action today!
Write your name and email address in our 'Give Child Labour the Sack' e-card to ask Australia’s Foreign Minister, The Hon Kevin Rudd, to help combat human trafficking and slavery.
