Opportunities for Working Internationally

Whilst most projects employ local staff, World Vision may also require internationally recruited candidates with experience in project management, public/community health, finance, human resource management, logistics and agriculture or engineering. The following qualities are what is needed in applying for international vacancies

  • Relevant academic qualifications
  • Cross cultural experience
  • Relevant work experience
  • Language skills in French, Spanish or Portuguese or other as appropriate
  • A desire to strongly support and promote the core values of World Vision
  • Adaptability, flexibility

Health

  • Minimum requirement of a Masters degree, preferably in Public Health
  • A background in the areas of Maternal Child Health, Nutrition, HIV/AIDS and Tropical Medicine is relevant
  • Work involves building local capacity and program management

Agriculture

  • Minimum requirement of a Masters degree in Agricultural studies
  • Significant experience in the agricultural area, preferably in the areas of crop production, extension work and working with farmers to improve systems
  • Work involves capacity building and program management

Finance

  • Certification as a Chartered Accountant or Certified Practising Accountant minimum requirement, skills in the area of Management Accounting (budgets) needed
  • Experience with charities or other publicly funded institutions highly desirable
  • Work involves grant management, capacity building and management over the entire Finance function

Logistics & Commodity Management

  • Requires previous experience in managing commodities and/or Logistics program in an emergency situation.

Program/Project Management

  • Experience in a relief and/or development role and management of cross- cultural teams across varying sectors
  • An understanding of development gained from a qualification in Development or International Studies also required. A solid grounding in the aims of relief and development work is essential
  • Work involves capacity building, team building and spiritual nurture.
