Fundraising Tips

Email...

...your fundraising webpage to everyone you know. You might be surprised by who donates.

Ask, Ask, Ask!

Many people intend to donate and just need a reminder. Don't be afraid to email often!
If you've directly asked people to donate without a response, try sending a few updates on how your training is going. Also send updates right before and after your race to let people in on your excitement and victory.

Tell your story.

People will want to give because they care about you.

Talk

Talk about what you're doing!

Contact your local media

Contact your local paper and use our media tips to get your story featured!

Ask your boss

Ask your employer or company to make a donation. Be bold and ask them to match whatever you raise!

Make business cards or flyers!

Make business cards or flyers with your personal website address to remind people where to go.

Ask for donations instead of birthday gifts one year.

Start a Facebook campaign...

... and update your status regularly until you've raised a certain amount.

Host a dinner...

...with friends, talk about your experience, and ask them to support your efforts.

Every little bit helps!

It might be difficult for people to make large donations. So focus on asking LOTS of people for SMALLER donations.

And remember...

you're not asking someone to buy a product they don't really need. You're inviting them to join you in helping to change lives. You can assure them that it is money well-spent.
