Tony Rinaudo - Natural Resources Management Specialist
Tony is involved in the development and promotion of agricultural-forestry-pastoral systems across a range of environments. He spent 18 years in Niger managing a long-term agricultural development program. The natural-regeneration reforestation methods Tony developed contributed to over five million hectares of land being re-vegetated in Niger. Tony was also instrumental in introducing edible seeded Australian acacias into Nigerien farming systems and for their promotion as a human food. Tony’s specialist areas are de-/reforestation, desertification, food security, sustainable farming and food production. Tony’s current focus is promoting reforestation internationally and facilitating ongoing research and development of edible seeded Australian acacias.
Tristan Clements - Humanitarian and Emergency Specialist
Tristan has worked with World Vision on emergency management since 2003. A member of the Humanitarian and Emergency Affairs team and formerly a member of World Vision's Global Rapid Response Team, Tristan has supported dozens of emergency programs in more than 20 countries. He has held emergency management posts in West Africa and the Pacific, with more recent deployments covering the conflict in Sri Lanka, Typhoon Ketsana in the Philippines, the malnutrition crisis in Niger, and most recently, the Horn of Africa drought and hunger emergency. Tristan has a Bachelor Degree in Geography and a Masters in Development and the Environment. His work has a global focus, with emphasis on emergency response, fragile states and aid worker safety. He is also an avid photographer.
David Lansley - Head of Climate and Natural Resources
David works in the areas of food security and economic development. He has an honours degree and a masters degree in economics from the University of Sydney, and a Master of International Business and a PhD from the University of Melbourne. Before joining World Vision, David was a senior fellow at the Australian and New Zealand School of Government. Before this he worked in the financial sector and has taught economics and political science at Melbourne and Monash universities, the Australian National University and the University of Sydney. David’s expertise includes economic development at a local, national and global level, as well as food prices, trade and overseas aid.
Graham Tardif - General Manager of International Programs
Graham has worked in international development and emergency response for more than 20 years. He holds a Masters in International and Community Development and a Bachelor of Arts. Graham works on all aspects of disaster management including disaster mitigation, preparation, response, recovery and rehabilitation. Before joining World Vision in 2002, Graham formed an organisation which provided emergency food and medical relief to people affected by conflict in Myanmar.
Kerin Ord - Head of International Programs
Kerin oversees development programs in Asia, the Pacific, Africa, Middle East and Eastern Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean. Kerin has a Masters in International Development and has worked in Vietnam, Cambodia, Timor-Leste, Lao PDR, Maldives, Nepal, Thailand, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Fiji and Lebanon. Kerin’s expertise includes the international development community, development effectiveness, and World Vision Australia’s international programs.
Melissa Stewart - Senior Advisor - Trafficking in Persons
Melissa has over 12 years experience working on policy and program responses to human trafficking and labour exploitation in the Asia and Pacific region and beyond. With degrees in both law and international development, Melissa acted as Technical Advisor to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime Regional Office for East Asia and the Pacific for two years. Previously, Melissa was Senior Policy Advisor and Acting Deputy Programme Manager with a UN inter-agency project on human trafficking, UNIAP. Melissa has extensive knowledge on human trafficking, migrant labour, child protection, business and human rights, and the criminal justice response to trafficking.
Simone Charnley - Country Program Manager for Zimbabwe, Malawi and Ghana
Simone has bachelor degrees in science and arts and a Masters of International and Community Development. Before joining World Vision, Simone worked for a number of NGOs in southern Africa, Europe and Asia. In Thailand, Simone worked for a regional NGO which promoted Muslim responses to HIV and AIDS across Asia, and collaborated with an inter-faith network on HIV and AIDS. She has also worked with children affected by HIV and AIDS in South Africa, as well as working for women’s legal empowerment to reduce vulnerability to HIV and AIDS in southern Africa. She has experience and interest in gender issues and HIV and AIDS programming.
Sue England - Maternal and Child Health Specialist Advisor
Sue is a consultant midwife with 20 years experience, focusing on midwifery education. Sue provides maternal and child health and nutrition advice and technical support to World Vision health projects. Her role is to evaluate projects and give advice on how to improve them. Sue holds qualifications in nursing, midwifery, child health, and sexual health and education. She has extensive experience in Australia and in countries including Ethiopia, Southern Sudan and Timor-Leste. Sue sits on several advisory boards on maternal and child health. Her expertise includes maternal and child health, maternal mortality, child mortality, ante-natal and post-natal care, and nutrition.
Susan Mizrahi - Campaigns Team Manager
Susan has been instrumental in leading the campaign against the use of child labour in the global cocoa industry. She is an experienced human rights advocate who has worked in India, the US and Europe on the China-Tibet issue, as well as throughout Southeast Asia. Susan has expertise in campaigning, political lobbying, human trafficking and slavery, and holds a Master in International Relations and Asian Politics, and a Master of Management (Supply Chains).
