More relief aid, consisting of 2,000 family kits and 750 children kits, will reach Padang on Saturday and Sunday, as World Vision continues to distribute aid in Kota Padang and Padang Pariaman, the worst areas affected by the earthquake.

A total of nearly 2100 people in Sei Serik now require assistance as 313 houses in the village collapsed. People are also in need of water and sanitation facilities. Wells are filled with dirty water and many toilets have been damaged by the earthquake.

World Vision is working in conjunction with other aid agencies to assist people in Padang. Meanwhile, more World Vision staff have departed for Padang to assist with the response program.
