Making some noise for West Africa

  1. Eden on stage at Australia's Digital Parents Conference, shortly after announcing her trip.

The thought of having no food to feed your child seems unimaginable to most Australians.

Yet this is exactly what is happening across West Africa, right now.

You probably haven't seen this on the news or even read about it in our country's major newspapers and according to one of Australia's top bloggers, Eden Riley, that's not good enough.

That's why Eden, a child sponsor for 10 years, is packing her bags and flying to Niger this weekend to speak to some of  the mothers affected and to tell their stories through her popular blog.

Following today's Digital Parents Conference in Melbourne, Eden isn't alone. Bloggers from around Australia tweeted their support for Eden as she announced her journey.

"@Nappy_daze What a way to finish off @Edenland you are the most earnest and kind-hearted blogger. I can't wait for your journey with @WorldVisionAus"

@1CathyJ - "Bloggers have the power to change the media landscape"

No matter who you are, you can support Eden on her mission to make some noise for West Africa and the emerging food crisis. Follow her journey on her blog, track #EdeninNiger on Twitter https://twitter.com/#!/WorldVisionAus and share her stories on Facebook.

You have the power to persuade your local newspaper, radio station, or TV channel to give the crisis the attention it deserves. If you see news about West Africa, share it on social media and tweet or email the news outlet to let them know you care about this issue, and you want to hear more.
