Get donations

It’s easy to collect donations for such an important cause. Here’s how to do it:

1. Easy email: Ask via email
   
   
   • Once you’ve filled in your details here you'll receive an email that you can personalise and forward on.
   • Your friends and family can then donate online by credit card (or, if you are a Group Member, in person by cash or cheque).
   • If they choose to donate online they will be sent a receipt by email, and you will also receive a confirmation email.
   • If you are a Group Member and they choose to donate in person, collect the cash or cheque (made payable to ‘World Vision 40 Hour Famine’), write them a receipt, then give the money/cheque to your Group Leader. Ask them NOT to post the cheque to World Vision!
   
   
2. People power: Ask in person
   
   
   • Explain your cause. If you are a Group Member, ask them to give you their donation on the spot, or if you are an Individual Participant ask them to donate online.
   • If they choose to donate online give them your Famine book number and tell them to go to 40hourfamine.com. They will be sent a receipt by email, and you will also receive a confirmation email.
   • If you are a Group Member and they choose to donate in person, collect the cash or cheque (made payable to World Vision 40 Hour Famine), write them a receipt, then give the money/cheque to your Group Leader.

If you are a Group Member, record all donations in your Famine Book, then make sure all cash and cheques go to your Group Leader before 30 September.
