One month to go until the funds that we raised during the 40 Hour Famine this year are due in on 30 September! Just because the official famine weekend is over, doesn’t mean fundraising comes to an end. We still have one month to carry on fundraising and collecting all those donations that were promised. So don’t give in now, keep going! This fight against poverty that we are fighting is such a critical one, and so far everyone has done such an awesome job, so let’s keep it up!
We only have one life to live, one chance to make a difference in this world and it’s so encouraging to see thousands of Australian’s taking this on board. I encourage people to go beyond to 40 Hour Famine and think about sponsoring a child or getting involved in something in your local community such as Vgen where advocacy is a major focus and bringing poverty to the attention of the public. As my year as Youth Ambassador begins to draw to a close, I also would love to see heaps of applications from people wanting to be a 40 Hour Famine Youth Ambassador in 2012! It is a wonderful opportunity and you will have your life completely changed.
So, just because 40 Hour Famine is over, that doesn’t mean that we suddenly stop fighting poverty. May we all continue to be active in our communities in creating awareness about the seriousness of global hunger and continue to keep our fundraising efforts going until that very last day in September!
What we are doing through World Vision is changing lives. Let’s change more!
