Famine funds provide relief for China's snowstorm emergency US$50,000 of the 2007 Famine funds supported China's snowstorm emergency relief effort. The funds contributed to the broader World Vision International response, which includes food distribution, power generators and distribution of child-friendly kits in the four worst-affected areas: Anhui, Hunan, Jiangxi and Guangxi. World Vision International has also distributed blankets and is setting up 200 power generators to assist 60,000 people. Supporting poor families in emergencies The 2008 Famine will continue to fund emergency relief projects around the world. Poor families all over the world are especially vulnerable to emergencies like wars, or natural disasters like floods, earthquakes or cyclones. When tragedy strikes they're often left with nothing.
