Katie Chambers – QLD
Katie Chambers, 17, QLD A couple of years ago I started sponsoring a little girl in Uganda through World Vision. Before I left for India, poverty was still just statistics and pictures on the TV to me. I knew all the facts, but I was lacking personal experience. Chatting with children who work for 15 hours every day, to pay off a never-ending debt, has urged me to make conscious decisions about what I purchase. Our trip made me realise just how little it takes to make a massive change in the lives of suffering children and their families, and that's exciting!
