Every $40 you raise helps 8 kids for a month Amazing but true! Every $40 raised in THE FAMINE: 2008 will help eight kids like Kajal for one month. As you can see, it only takes a few donations to make an incredible difference in the lives of kids forced into child labour, trafficking and slavery. Think about it next time you and your mates hit the shops!
How many months can you help 8 kids?
How many kids can you help in one year? If your target is over $480 (that's helping eight kids for one year) you'll need to use this table:
To work out the number of kids you can help with a different $ target, divide your $ target by 12, then divide that figure by 40, then multiply by eight. The funds raised in The 40 Hour Famine will be used over a 12-month period. These calculations are based on the average cost of providing preventative, rehabilitation and advocacy programs in World Vision Australia's Child Labour and Trafficking Prevention projects in India. Funds also go toward providing food security, clean water access and income generation activities to projects in Laos and East Timor. Remaining funds go toward providing emergency relief to poor countries when an emergency arises. The 40 Hour Famine is a community education and fundraising initiative of World Vision Australia. |
