Apply to be a Youth Ambassador for 2013!
Every year, World Vision accepts applications from 40 Hour Famine participants to be our Youth Ambassadors for the following year. It's an amazing experience and the chance of a lifetime.
What does a World Vision Youth Ambassador do?
- Travel overseas on a World Vision Study Tour in January 2013 to meet children and families who live in poverty and witness their daily struggles firsthand.
- Come back to Australia and share the stories of the people you met by speaking at schools, events and with other young people in the community.
Who can become a Youth Ambassador?
You'll be eligible to apply if:
- You have raised $200 or more for 40 Hour Famine 2012
- You are 15-20 years old in 2013
- You are available in your home state throughout 2013
- You are genuinely interested in issues of global poverty and injustice and want to see the world change (check out what motivates World Vision to see if this strikes a chord with you)
- You respect cultural diversity and enjoy experiencing new things
- You enjoy public speaking and could jump up in front of a big school assembly to speak without freaking out!
If you think you’ve got what it takes to be a leader in 2013, stay tuned - we'll let you know how to apply soon.
After a series of interviews, group sessions and a public speaking test, we'll announce the successful applicants in early December 2012. Just in time for Christmas!
