Burtukan is one of around a billion people on the planet who are chronically hungry. But she’s got a vision.

Burtukan runs a make-believe cafe, Cafe Share. In Burtukan’s vision, all of her friends have enough to eat and sharing is what life is all about. At Cafe Share, everything is right in the world.

In reality, things aren’t right. Fifty percent of Ethiopian children under five have stunted growth from hunger.

By giving up food or something else that really matters to you for 40 hours, you can raise community awareness and much needed funds for kids living in poverty overseas. And you can make a massive difference: $40 can help feed a family of five for a month.

Turn the 40 Hour Famine into a family holiday to Bali

Helping others is its own reward. But this year, thanks to our friends at Jetstar, the person who raises the most money online will get a little something extra: a family trip for five to Bali! Details coming soon.
