2010 World Vision Youth Ambassador: Tom Kiat in Nepal

Tom Kiat

18 years old, New South Wales

I’m Tom and I live in the inner-west of Sydney. I moved here from LA when I was five.

I'm a Christian and it's Jesus who got me seriously interested in social justice. His teaching on love, money and life are really helpful and inspiring for thinking about current issues of poverty and inequality.

I've been involved with the 40 Hour Famine throughout high school. A desire to find out what poverty looks like for real people and to see how change can develop were big motivators in applying to be a Youth Ambassador.

I hope to be personally challenged and inspired  - as well as challenge and inspire others to take poverty seriously, to become passionate about social justice and to do something about it.
