Girls Night Out

From Africa to Australia, women all over the world are the same. They are skilled at doing a million things at once. Their family is their priority. They desire the support of others, and find great joy in being a support in return.

Girls Night Out is an evening that understands women. An evening of sharing and laughter.

We would like to invite you and your church to come on board and experience this fantastic event with your communities.

By sharing their ‘Pearls of Wisdom’ with other women in the community, women can make a significant impact on their own lives and the lives of those around them – especially children. This is true both in Australia and the developing world. Girls Night Out is a great bridge-building event, offering you the opportunity to connect with women in your local community. Girls Night Out is a night of entertainment, inspiration and motivation for all women, young and old.

95% of Attendants said they will recommend Girls Night Out to friends.

It went so well we are working with World Vision on a second Girls Night Out later this year.” ~ Stephen Hale, Senior Minister of St Hilary’s Anglican Church, Kew, said.

Girls Night Out appealed to a really wide range of women. We had young women in their late teens and a lady who was 87 years old and all of them had a great time. Girls Night Out was a great way to support the work of World Vision and if we were asked to work with World Vision again the answer would be yes. ~ Kay Bailey from Aberfoyle Uniting Church in Adelaide

"What I enjoyed so much about the Girls Night Out event is that everybody wins. The Church, because people came from the community and now know where the church is. The community - because  they got to relax and to have some entertainment and a great fun night - and also World Vision. Awareness was raised about those who are living in poverty. It was a fabulous night" ~ Marg Hall from Kalamunda Church of Christ

How does it work?

World Vision has developed Girls Night Out as a tool that churches can use to connect with women both inside and outside the church. Girls Night Out events are a package that includes a singer, speaker and information about how World Vision child sponsorship impacts communities. The promotional advertising for the event is provided to the church by World Vision and the ticket price paid by participants covers the costs associated with running Girls Night Out.

Erica Bartel

Raised on a steady diet of Young Talent Time, Judy Blume books and Dolly magazines,  freelance journalist Erica Bartle infuses her work with personal insights on body image and "girl stuff". She hopes to shine a light on aspects of popular culture, and glossy magazine practises that conflict with women’s best interests. She has been editing her ‘Girl With a Satchel’ blog since 2007 and has been a devoted follower of Jesus Christ since 2006.
